WHAT PROJECTS CAN YOU DO WITH A CRICUT HEAT PRESS?

Wondering what kind of projects you can make with a Cricut heat press? I’ll show you how to make a cute customized pencil pouch with the Cricut EasyPress and lots of other projects I have made over the years with the help of my Cricut heat press.

This is a sponsored post brought to you by Cricut. All opinions are my own.

WHAT IS THE CRICUT EASYPRESS?

The Cricut EasyPress is a heat press designed for heat transfer projects using materials like iron-on or Cricut Infusible Ink. It has precise temperature control up to 400°F and even a timer so you can time your press. I have the EasyPress 2, but Cricut also recently released the EasyPress 3 which has BlueTooth™ technology and pairs with the Cricut Heat app to make projects even faster.

I use the Cricut Heat Guide found HERE, for projects with my EasyPress 2.

WHAT PROJECTS CAN I MAKE WITH THE CRICUT EASYPRESS?

You can make all sorts of projects with a Cricut heat press, from home decor to t-shirts and even paper projects. And I really mean all sorts of projects. Check out the picture collage below of projects I have made over the years. Literally SO MANY projects all made with the help of a Cricut EasyPress.  From t-shirts, to iron-on on wood, to adding iron-on to earrings, to making Infusible Ink pillows and even coasters!

I couldn’t even fit all the projects in one collage, so here are some more projects I have made using my Cricut EasyPress. Another fun pillow with iron-on, more shirts, iron-on on wood and a tote bag too. All made with the help of the Cricut EasyPress.

In this post,  I’ll show you how to use a Cricut heat press to make a cute customized pencil pouch, perfect for back to school, or just to organize some of your craft supplies.

I love to use my Cricut EasyPress for Infusible Ink projects, because I know I will get a great, perfect press. A regular house-hold iron won’t work for Infusible Ink projects because it doesn’t get hot enough and plus it has uneven heating.

Instructions:
Open the Design Space file found HERE.  You can change the name to any font and style you would like.

Cricut Maker 3 cutting Infusible Ink strips

Tip-
A little trick to get this project done faster is to change the 5 crayons to the same color so they cut on one mat. Since each crayon is less then an inch wide, I simply cut out 1 inch strips of each color of Infusible Ink (not the Ultraviolet color, as that has the lines for the design).  Place the strips on your mat. In the Design Space screen, edit your mat so that each crayon is lined up in each one inch space. Now you don’t need to cut out each color crayon on a separate mat except for the purple one!

Layering Infusible Ink sheets for crayons

After you have cut out your design, carefully weed the excess Infusible Ink.  Since you want to make one press, you’ll need to carefully layer your design. I use the purple crayon transfer sheet to line everything up on. This takes a little bit of time, but it’s not hard at all!

Open the Cricut Heat Guide found HERE to make sure to select the correct settings.  For the pouches with the heat press mat, the settings are 385°F for 60 seconds.  Make sure to follow the heat guide’s instruction on layering and to cover the design with butcher paper. I also like to make sure I’m not placing the EasyPress over the zipper as this can cause an uneven transfer. I place it just below the zipper so the press is completely flat.

Press for 60 seconds, and then remove the transfer sheet. Ta-da! You have a fun pencil pouch with a permanent transfer that won’t crack or fade!
