MONOGRAMMED SHIRTS WITH CRICUT PATTERNED IRON-ON

Cricut’s newest patterned iron-on adds the perfect details to your projects! I especially  love the watercolor sampler pack from Natalie Malan. I created this cute monogram with a watercolor flower using the new iron-on.

I’ve been having fun making things with Cricut’s newest material- patterned iron-on. (You can see some other projects I’ve made at the end of this post. )  There are now nine new sampler packs on the Cricut website. They come with three 12” x 17” sheets with different designs that are great for mixing and matching.

Iron-on is perfect to customize t-shirts, hoodies, baby bodysuits, throw pillows, tote bags and much more.

I also had a chance to test out my new EasyPress mat and I was impressed with it! The mat is designed to eliminate moisture and direct heat to the iron-on design. I use iron-on a lot and I did feel like it helped the iron-on application go faster. I also liked that it protected my work area so I didn’t need to use a towel.

Supplies for Baby Monogram:

Cricut Patterned Iron-on

Cricut Patterned Iron-on in Natalie Malan Sunset Blossom
Cricut Foil Iron-on in Rose Gold
Cricut EasyPress
Cricut EasyPress Mat
Cricut StandardGrip Mat
Cricut Weeding Tool Set (optional)

Instructions:

You can open my design for the shirt HERE. If you need a different letter I used the Cricut Hopeless Romantic font. I customized my letter by adding the flower (Image #MFB293) and using the Slice tool so I wouldn’t have overlapping layers. (You can learn more about slicing a design from my post HERE.)

Click on Make it and make sure to mirror your images on BOTH mats. Place your iron-on on the StandardGrip (green) mat liner side down.  Select “Patterned Iron-on” from the materials list. Make sure your fine tip blade is loaded into your machine and then cut it out.

Make sure to change your material settings to foil iron-on when you cut out that mat.

Carefully weed the excess material from your design. This is where the tools come in handy to get out the tiny little pieces.

Decide on the placement for your design. You will need to apply each layer separately starting with the foil iron-on.

Look at the temperature chart for your EasyPress (you can find it online HERE). Follow the instructions for preheat, press, post heat and removal as outlined in the chart.

If you do not have an EasyPress mat, there is a separate chart with slightly different instructions. Make sure you use the correct chart!

Now you are all done! Admire your cute creation! What designs are you going to make with the patterned iron-on?

Here are some of the other items I’ve made with the new patterned iron-on. I shared the tutorial for the cute birthday shirt on the Cricut blog. You can view that post HERE.

  1. I am new to Cricuit and can’t seem to find the Hopeless Romantic font in design space. I really love this project and want to try to make it for my friend who is expecting a new baby. I need a R and not the A thou. Is there a way you can direct link me. I subscribed to the font feature on my Circuit account. Thank you so much!

      1. Thank you so much I found the font after I messaged you, but thank for the link to the letter already done. I don’t have time to try to make it tonight. But I will try by the weekend! I will let you know! Thanks so much! ~Ruth
