FELT FLOWER WREATH WITH THE CRICUT MAKER

Did you know that there are 50 FREE projects that come with the Cricut Maker? There are so many fun options!  I chose this cute felt wreath. Read on for the tutorial.

Felt Flower Wreath made with Cricut Maker

To see all 50 of the free projects and to find the Felt Wreath project, open Design Space, select Projects, and in the drop down Menu select “Free for Cricut Maker”. The Felt Wreath is one of the first projects.

The great thing about Make it Now Projects is that you can make them your very own. I chose to use a couple of different colors of felt and I also chose a different style wreath to glue my flowers on. I love that the projects are all ready for you, so all you have to do is cut them out!

I love the thin wreath rings that are in style right now. I was getting rid of an old lamp and lampshade and I wondered if I might be able to take out the metal rings from the shade. I cut away the plastic part and voila, I had two rings to use for wreaths. I love to upcycle items. One ring was already a really nice white but the other had some glue stuck to it so I wrapped it in black and white ribbon for this wreath.

Felt Wreath Materials:
(Click on any of the materials below to purchase)

Cricut Maker
Cricut 12X12 Fabric Mat
Rotary Blade
Cricut Felt
(The colors they use are as follows. I used similar shades)

  • Felt in charcoal
  • Felt in salmon
  • Felt in peach
  • Felt in marigold
  • Felt in pale green
  • Felt in olive green
  • Felt in dusty blue
  • Felt in heron blue
  • Felt in mauve
  • Felt in dusky pink
  • Felt in white

Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Wreath Forms
Felt Balls (optional I used these instead of the rolled centers)

You can find all the instructions for the felt wreath in the project itself. However, I have provided some pictures of how you put the 3D felt flowers together once you cut everything out.

Felt Succulents Instructions

Each succulent has a little tab. Use you hot glue to glue each tab and secure to the other leaf. Repeat with the pieces. Stack together to create the succulent. Glue the small circle in the middle to finish them.

Felt Dahlia Instructions

To make these flowers, glue each of the 8 tabs to the front of the petal. Repeat with all the pieces. Stack together, offsetting each petal. For the center of each one you can use the rolled pieces like in the project or a felt ball (this is what I used).

Felt Peony Instructions

To make the peony, glue each of the 6 tabs to the front of each petal. Stack together starting with the 10 petal flowers first. Offset each one slightly. Finish with a felt ball or rolled center.

Poppy Instructions

Glue the tab on the poppy petal and secure to the petal next to it. Repeat with the second poppy piece. Layer together to form your flower. Finish with a felt ball or rolled center.

Once you have assembled all the flowers and succulents, you will want to arrange and glue them to your wreath. Then you are finished!

  1. Thank you so much for these instructions! The official project in the Cricut design space does NOT tell you how to put together the flowers, and I could not figure it out – being a newbie to the Cricut world. I had to search and wa-la! Here you are! Thanks again – I love how you tweaked it with the metal circle instead of a grapevine wreath.
