December is one of my favorite months but also one of the most stressful! There’s all sorts of parties to attend, gifts to shop for and gifts to wrap! I am always on the look out for good deals to get great gifts. I visited my local Deseret Industries this past week to see what deals I could find.
Deseret Industries restocks their floor with thousands of items daily so it’s always an adventure. I decided I would be on the look out for some small stocking stuffers. I always forget about little gifts for the stockings until the last minute, but not this year!
I first went to look for a couple of small stuffed animals for my children’s stockings. Deseret Industries always has a large selection of toys and stuffed animals. Some are even donated new with tags. I saw a couple of larger stuffed animals with tags still on but didn’t find any smaller ones that I liked. I always try to be flexible when I shop because I never know what other great deals are there that day. I wandered over to their household items section and found a brand new Project Life card set and a silpat baking mat! The silpat baking mat and card set were only $1 each! Both these items are usually around $20 each so I was excited to find such a great deal. I thought the silpat mat would make a great stocking stuffer for myself and I have a neighbor in mind for the card set. I also found a brand new nail art kit, ninja turtle game and a little metal motorcycle for my family’s stockings.
Every year I like to change and add to my holiday decor. These cute striped stockings were only $1 each so I couldn’t pass them up. Even if I decide not to keep them as our stockings they make a great gift. It’s fun to be able to change things up for a only a few dollars. I rolled up the silpat making mat and tied a cute spatula and ribbon on it and used it for my stocking. This would also be a great little present for someone who loves to bake! The ninja turtle game went into my son’s stocking, a motorcycle for my husband and the nail art for my little girl. Now when Christmas morning rolls around, I already will have the gifts for the stockings done and just need to add some candy.
If you are looking to stretch your holiday dollar further, then check out your local Deseret Industries. I love shopping at Deseret Industries not only for the incredible deals, but because I know I am contributing to job training for others in the community. All store associates are given training and assistance to move into a permanent career and a life of self-reliance. And don’t forget to bring your donations to make room in your home for other gifts you receive on Christmas day. To learn more and find your nearest location, visit their website deseretindustries.org
